The International Data Corporation (IDC) for Q4 2015 is that Xiaomi surpassed Apple in the smartphone market in India in terms of units shipped. Samsung continued to be the supplier of smartphones in India by Micromax,Lenova, and lava.
According to city level smartphone monthly monitoring of IDC, the top 30 cities of India constitute approximately 51% of the total smartphone market in Q4 2015. The data says that New Delhi has generated peak demand, which was followed closely by Mumbai.
IDC explained that the top 5 cities in India constitute about 60 percent of smartphone sales in India online. 4G phones account for about 45 percent of the market in these cities. Top 5 providers in the investigation of the top 30 city Samsung smartphones were IDC, which remained at the top in the direction of 30 cities in India, in Q4 2015 in the cities. Intex and lava stood at fourth and fifth position respectively. Intex was 8.2 percent, while the share of lava followed closely with 7.1 percent. IDC said Apple dominated in the "over $ 300 (about Rs. 20,000) smartphone 'segment with a market share of 42.1 percent.
